Richard Allan joins RSSB Board

The Rail Safety and Standards Board (RSSB) is pleased to announce the appointment of Richard Allan to its Board as an Industry Non-Executive Director. Richard’s appointment, effective August 1, 2024, strengthens the Board’s representation of passenger train operators.

Richard Allan is currently the Managing Director of Chiltern Railways. Prior to this role, he held senior positions at Northern, including Commercial Director, People and Strategy Director, and Regional Director. His extensive experience in the rail industry will be invaluable to RSSB.

On his appointment to the RSSB Board, Richard said: ‘I am delighted to join the Board. I look forward to contributing to RSSB’s ongoing success and development in providing expert leadership and support to the rail industry.’

RSSB’s Chair, Mike Brown, said: ‘I’m pleased that Richard has joined the Board, bringing his vast experience from senior roles across the rail industry. Richard’s insights and challenge will help RSSB as we continue to support the rail industry.’

With Richard Allan’s addition, RSSB is well-positioned to address the evolving needs of the rail industry and ensure its continued safety and efficiency.
