Rail Innovation Hub GCRE Opens Doors for Supply Chain Site Tour

The Global Centre of Rail Excellence (GCRE), a groundbreaking rail research, innovation, and testing facility currently under development in South Wales, is inviting its supply chain partners and key industry contacts to an exclusive “Open Day” on Tuesday, May 13th.

The event will offer attendees a unique opportunity to take a guided tour of the expansive 700-hectare site, providing a firsthand look at the progress of this ambitious project.

Upon arrival at the GCRE site, guests will be welcomed with refreshments before being kitted out with Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in preparation for a Land Rover tour of the grounds.

Subject to availability, attendees will have the option to choose from three scheduled tour times throughout the day:

Each tour is expected to last approximately 70 minutes, and attendees are advised to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to their booked tour time to allow for registration and safety briefings.

All tours will commence and conclude at the GCRE site, specifically at Building 20, Nant Helen Site, Coelbren, Powys, SA10 9PD.

While guests are welcome to bring their own PPE, the GCRE will also have equipment available for those who prefer. Comprehensive safety information will be provided to all attendees before the commencement of their tour.

This Open Day provides a valuable opportunity for the rail industry supply chain and key stakeholders to witness the scale and potential of the GCRE project as it moves towards becoming a world-leading centre for rail technology and innovation.
