ffeibr has reached a major milestone in the rollout of digital infrastructure in Wales, extending its full fibre network from the Core Valley Lines into Cardiff city centre and through to Cardiff Bay.
The expansion builds on fibre routes developed alongside the South Wales Metro, creating a high-capacity network designed to support businesses, public services and digital operations across the region.
The new infrastructure provides ultrafast upload and download speeds, improved reliability for high-volume data use and resilient connectivity to multiple data centres and cloud services. It is also designed to support content creation and other data-intensive applications.
By extending the network into the capital, the project strengthens connectivity between Cardiff and surrounding Valley communities, creating more direct access to economic and public service hubs.
ffeibr operates on a purpose-led model, with profits reinvested into the Welsh public sector through Transport for Wales, supporting wider infrastructure and service improvements.
