East West Rail Welcomes New Railway Operations Director

East West Rail has announced the appointment of Ben Rule as its new Railway Operations Director, bringing over 25 years of rail industry experience to the ambitious project.

Rule, who will join the company later this year, has a proven track record across numerous high-profile rail projects and companies. His expertise is expected to be invaluable as East West Rail continues to develop and refine its plans for connecting communities across the region.

David Hughes, CEO of East West Railway Company (EWR Co), expressed his enthusiasm for the appointment, stating: “We are very excited to welcome Ben to East West Rail. Ben will play a key role within the company and his proven track record in the rail industry will be invaluable as the company continues to develop and refine its plans.”

East West Rail aims to connect communities between Oxford, Milton Keynes, Bedford, and Cambridge, fostering sustainable economic growth in the area. The new railway will provide improved access to jobs, education, public services, and leisure opportunities.

As one of Britain’s most significant transport infrastructure projects, East West Rail is projected to deliver a substantial economic boost to the region. It is estimated that the project has the potential to add £6.7 billion per year to the local economy by 2050.
