Nomad Digital, the Alstom-owned specialist in transport connectivity solutions, has appointed Jean-Philippe Garbit as Managing Director, effective 1 January 2026.
Garbit joins from Alstom, where he most recently served as Managing Director for Digital & Integrated Systems in the Nordics. Over 14 years with the business, he has held senior leadership roles across signalling and digital services, building deep expertise in rail technology and system integration.
His appointment reinforces Nomad Digital’s position within Alstom’s wider digital portfolio and signals a continued focus on connectivity, data and passenger-facing innovation as the rail sector accelerates its digital transformation.
Garbit said he is committed to advancing the company’s mission and working closely with teams, customers and partners to drive the next phase of growth.
He succeeds Emmanuel Henry, who moves to the role of Managing Director, Digital & Integrated Systems UK and Ireland at Alstom. Henry described Garbit’s appointment as a strengthening of Nomad Digital’s strategic direction, particularly as rail digitalisation gathers pace across Europe and beyond.
Nomad Digital has played a central role in delivering onboard connectivity and digital solutions to operators worldwide. As expectations around passenger experience, operational data and cybersecurity continue to rise, leadership with both digital and rail system expertise will be critical.
Garbit’s background in integrated systems positions Nomad Digital to further align connectivity solutions with signalling, data and broader rail technology strategies. For operators, that integration will increasingly define performance, resilience and customer satisfaction.
The transition marks continuity rather than change in direction. With strong ties to Alstom’s digital operations and a growing global demand for connected rail services, Nomad Digital enters 2026 with a clear mandate: scale innovation and deepen its role in shaping the future of rail connectivity.
