Amey has appointed Jonathan Goring as Executive Advisor to help drive the next phase of growth for its Consulting business, strengthening its position across key infrastructure sectors and supporting expansion into new markets.
The appointment brings decades of experience in infrastructure, major capital programmes and organisational transformation to the business, as Amey continues to invest in its consulting capabilities and pursue new opportunities in the UK and internationally.
Goring has held senior leadership positions across both the public and private sectors, including CEO, board and programme leadership roles. His career includes senior positions with Capita, Morgan Sindall, PA Consulting, Mott MacDonald and Systra, alongside leadership roles on major programmes including HS2 and Saudi Arabia’s NEOM development.
In his new role, Goring will focus on strengthening the front end of Amey’s consulting pipeline, helping identify and develop strategic opportunities across existing frameworks, new sectors and international markets.
He will also work closely with senior leaders across the business to enhance collaboration between teams, strengthen client relationships and align business development activity with the company’s long-term growth strategy.
Jonathan Goring said: “I am delighted to be joining Amey at a time of strong ambition and opportunity for its Consulting business. Amey has a strong track record in delivering complex programmes, and I am looking forward to contributing to that by supporting the development of new opportunities and helping to bring clarity to some of the most challenging projects facing clients today.”
Colin Wood, Consulting Managing Director at Amey, said: “We are delighted to welcome Jonathan to Amey at an important point in the growth of our Consulting business. He brings a wealth of experience in leading complex programmes and driving growth across a range of markets. His appointment strengthens our ability to identify and convert strategic opportunities, while continuing to build the partnerships and capability needed to deliver the best possible outcomes for our clients and communities.”
The appointment follows a series of senior hires within Amey’s Consulting division, including Gert Vermeiren as Sector Director for Engineering and Stephen Knott as Chief Operations Director, as the company continues to strengthen its leadership team and expand its consultancy offering across transport, infrastructure and the built environment.
