Helen Hardy appointed Chief Executive of CILT (UK)

The Board of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (UK) has confirmed the appointment of Helen Hardy as Chief Executive Officer, following a successful seven-month period in the role on an interim basis.

Helen’s permanent appointment reflects the leadership, stability and progress delivered during the interim period, as well as the Board’s confidence in her ability to guide the Institute through its next phase of development. The decision follows a full and competitive recruitment process, supported by an external recruitment agency.

Anna-jane Hunter, Chair of the Board, said Helen had demonstrated strong leadership and delivery, alongside a clear understanding of CILT (UK)’s role as the professional body for logistics, transport and supply chain.

“Helen’s appointment provides continuity and confidence as we continue to strengthen our influence, support our members and champion the profession,” she said.

During her time as Interim CEO, Helen has worked closely with members, volunteers and staff, ensuring organisational stability while maintaining momentum against the Institute’s strategic priorities.

Commenting on her appointment, Helen Hardy said: “It has been a privilege to lead CILT (UK) over the past seven months, and I am delighted to be taking on the role of Chief Executive on a permanent basis. I am incredibly proud of the work of our team and excited about what we can achieve together.

“Our focus remains on supporting our members, strengthening professional standards and ensuring CILT (UK) continues to be a strong, authoritative voice for the sector.”

The appointment secures leadership continuity for CILT (UK) as it continues to support professionals across logistics, transport and supply chain, while representing the sector with authority and impact at a time of ongoing change and challenge.
