Network Rail Scotland to host SME Networking Event

Network Rail Scotland, in collaboration with its key suppliers, is hosting a networking event to connect with small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) eager to participate in the future of Scotland’s Railway.

The event, scheduled for Wednesday, November 13th, will take place at The Studio on Hope Street, Glasgow. It is open to all businesses interested in expanding their presence within the rail sector.

The event will be divided into two sessions, morning and afternoon, offering attendees the opportunity to hear directly from Network Rail and its suppliers about the significant investment planned for Scotland’s Railway between now and 2029.

The focus will be on opportunities within Network Rail’s frameworks for Building and Civils, and Signalling, Power, and Communications.

A range of industry leaders, including QTS, Rail Systems Alliance Scotland, VolkerRail, Taziker, Story, AMCO, SPL Powerlines, and Siemens, will be present to discuss their work and answer questions.

Stuart Lee, head of procurement for Network Rail Scotland, said: “We are very pleased to be able to work alongside our main contractors to help smaller companies interested in rail find out more about the opportunities coming up in Scotland over the next five years.

“The event will be a great chance to meet key contacts across Scotland’s Railway. We want to help make it easier for new companies to enter the rail sector and we hope to use these sessions to broaden our engagement and better understand what SMEs need from us too.”

Each session will last three hours, from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM and 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM, and will include a Network Rail introduction, partner presentations, Q&A sessions, and breakout supplier sessions.
