What is Rail Industry Connect? | Rail Industry Connected

Below is an address from Dan Clark, CEO of Rail Industry Connect, after launching last week.

I am Dan Clark and I am the CEO of Rail Industry Connect – a concept and product that I have been developing independently since I left Rail Business Daily as the company’s operations director, around two years ago.

Rail Industry Connect finally launched last week and I’d like to show my sincere gratitude to everyone who has sent me kind messages and contacted me directly to find out more. I have been both overwhelmed with the response and humbled by the amount of people who signed up following my inaugural edition. Thank you.

It is clear that people are already seeing that Rail Industry Connect is fresh, modern and different…now operating in a traditional marketplace that largely remains the same year after year. Rail Industry Connect is a brand new resource for the industry – completely focused on helping people and organisations to grow.

Please bear with me while I quickly tell you about what inspired me to set this new initiative up, how it works and how it will benefit you and your organisation.

Firstly, I must stress that Rail Industry Connect is not just another media business – it will cover industry news stories in a more comprehensive way but that is not our core value proposition. Helping you to win more work is. Keeping you up to date with the latest news, views and analysis is just one part of that. My aim is to create tailored partnerships, to help you to position yourself better to win work and to connect you with information and people who will add value to you and your business.

I will not be sending you information every day! My one bulletin on Friday each week – sent to a huge audience of more than 120,000 industry professionals – will link you to the industry’s most comprehensive insight and information website – with all of the news aggregated in one location. I also have access to a list of more than 400,000 global industry contacts.

Look, I promise not to sell you advertising and I promise not to fill up your inbox with irrelevant nonsense – but what I do promise is that you will get more from Rail Industry Connect than you will from anywhere else.

Over the last two decades, I’ve been supporting rail businesses in their attempts to win more work. I have done this in a number of ways, including: profile raising, bid management, writing bids or supporting clients to directly engage with their business targets. I’ve seen firsthand the challenges and struggles many face to get a foot in the door. Throughout this time, I have worked collaboratively with organisations to overcome those challenges and I’m delighted to have helped them grow – in a great many cases winning millions of pounds worth of new work.

This work covers infrastructure, rolling stock and train operating companies – through a mix of profile raising and direct engagement with business targets. My aim is to make it easier to help businesses overcome these barriers and challenges and make it easier for them to do business together.

That in essence, is what Rail Industry Connect, is all about!

I will be continually building Rail Industry Connect to be a single repository for information to help businesses connect with the industry.

There’s a range of ways to achieve that, whether it is through getting your message out to the wider industry, directly speaking to key business targets using various means and also learning from rail industry leaders and published information that is available at www.railindustryconnect.co.uk.

All information on Rail Industry Connect is entirely focused on providing important intelligence that will help your company grow, and also to help businesses we work with to achieve their business goals. My approach is one of collaboration, partnership, it is very different.

Information, whether that is news, intel, strategy documents, briefings or events, are all broken down into rail disciplines – and Network Rail regions too, so anyone can wrap their heads around specific requirements for the devolved regions – and understand the types of messages they need to be presenting to be successful in those areas.

If you just want to receive information and resources to your inbox for free – once a week – then all you need to do is click subscribe on the news page on the website. But if you want to supercharge your business growth, I have unique partner packages available that will help to accelerate and optimise your business strategy.

Let’s keep this simple. It all starts with a conversation. All I need is to understand your objectives over the next three to five years, and Rail Industry Connect’s various services and abilities will wrap around your marketing and business development strategy to help enhance it further.

I have made these partner packages affordable for all businesses – connecting with the wider industry in new and different ways so we can take your business development efforts to the next level.

If you’re looking to increase your reputation, then brilliant. We have different opportunities to put your name in lights, as well as directly put you in front of potential new clients important to you. Over the last ten years, I’ve worked in both written and broadcast media, featuring on Sky, BBC, TalkTV, TalkSport, and more – to truly understand how to position people as the top professionals and advocates in their respective sectors. Check out my interview with Danny Lane at Aaron Group on last week’s informational email.

Rail Industry Connect is about to become one of the most powerful resources in rail – enabling you to contact anyone working within rail. And I want you to use our resources to connect yourself to the wider industry and learn about all the best practice, latest innovations and latest opportunities to support your growth.

In summary, Rail Industry Connect is about connecting businesses and growing them. Let’s get you connected today. Give me a call, send me an email, or connect with me on LinkedIn and I’ll be in touch. I can’t wait to hear from you.

Let’s connect.

Let’s get going!
