c2c tops national rail punctuality and reliability rankings

c2c has been named the UK’s best performing train operator for punctuality and reliability, according to the latest annual railway performance figures published by Network Rail.

The operator recorded a Time to 3 (T-3) punctuality score of 91.9% for the 12 months to 31 March 2026, placing it at the top of the national rankings. The T-3 measure records the percentage of trains arriving within three minutes of their scheduled time.

c2c also achieved the lowest cancellation rate in the country, with just 1.7% of services cancelled during the reporting period.

Managing Director Rob Mullen said the results reflected the commitment of staff across the business.

“Providing customers with a safe, reliable and punctual service remains our number one priority, and the latest annual statistics, which see us top the industry leaderboard, are testament to the hard work and dedication of the c2c team,” he said.

He added that the operator would continue investing in service improvements while working closely with Network Rail Anglia and neighbouring operators including Greater Anglia.

Alongside its operational performance, c2c also reported strong commercial growth during 2025/26, with passenger numbers and ticket sales increasing and overall revenue rising by 10.6% compared with the previous financial year.

Commercial and Business Strategy Director Eleni Jordan said initiatives including the rollout of contactless payments and e-ticketing had helped support the growth.

She also highlighted a number of recent station improvements across the network, including platform renewal works at Basildon and Rainham, upgrades at Barking station and improved lighting across several locations.

“Our strong revenue growth in 2025/26 reflects our continued momentum under public ownership as we build back better and move towards Great British Railways,” she said.
